Beauty Class for Whitening Skin

Beauty Class for Whitening Skin

The first step:  Sunscreen is always the first part of the whitening, but also the most indispensable step.

The whitening skin mainly depends on the ability of melanin synthesis of melanocytes. Melanin cells contain tyrosinase after oxidation of tyrosine, after a series of processes of metabolic, and finally the formation of melanin. The more melanin, the darker the skin.

Good whitening ingredients need to have the following properties.

1: The strong inhibition of tyrosinase.
2: Oxidation resistance (black pigment formation has an oxidation process)
3: There are other such as absorbent, safety, compatibility, stability and other raw materials.

Current popular whitening ingredients as below:

1: Vitamin C and its derivatives

Vitamin C, also known as Ascorbic Acid. The biggest drawback is that it's easy to deteriorate when exposured to air. Currently, the skin care products are mostly used the vitamin c derivatives. The best way is to kept under seal. Prior to use and add it to the other skin care products.

Efficacy: Natural strong anti oxidants, strengthen the skin against the sun damage ability. Reducing a variety of melanin production, thereby reducing the spots and freckles. It has a very good effect on whitening, at the same time, it also has anti-inflammatory effect.

Disadvantages: Poor stability, fear of heat&light, whitening effect is relatively slow.

2: Nicotinamide

It's s a soluble vitamin B, also known as vitamin B3. It's also the active ingredient of Nicotinic Acid, which has a effect on whitening, moisturizing, anti-oxidation, anti-aging (reduce wrinkles, erythema, yellow and stain), improving the function of skin barrier and oil control and shrink pores.

Advantages: Comprehensive function and almost meet the needs of the skin.

Disadvantages: a lot of people on allergy, such as redness, itching, tingling, and so on. If you are sensitive to this ingredient, then we don't recommend to use it.

3: Arbutin

Also known as arbutin extracted from bearberry leaves to prevent the formation of melanin by inhibiting the activity of tyrosinase in vivo, so as to reduce skin pigmentation, remove spots and freckles, and sterilization, anti-inflammatory role. It's very popular in the market and most safe and effective whitening ingredients.

On the market, most of arbutin is a β-arbutin, just only few manufacturers to produce α-arbutin. For α-arbutin, the price is also very high than β-arbutin. But the whitening effect is more than 15 times of β-arbutinThe biggest difference between the two in the physical properties is the spin luminosityα-arbutin is 180 degrees, and  β-arbutin is about 60 degrees.

Arbutin in molecular introduced a glucose molecule, so close skin is extremely good, whitening effect particularly fast, irritating also less than "of Hydroquinone", which can interfere with the formation of melanin whitening effect, but because it has a pungent, it will cause irritation dermatitis and pigmentation. In many countries, it was included in the cosmetics prohibited items. But for a long time, the use of high concentration on the skin to throw a certain irritation, especially sensitive skin.

Advantages: the skin would be glamorous and the whitening effect is extremely fast, also more safe than other whitening ingredients. The skin has a effect for repairing, which is suitable for sensitive skin.

Disadvantages: It has the photosensitive, causing the skin photosensitive reaction, also has a certain stimulation to the skin.

4: Kojic acid

It also called as" Aspergillus acid" and it's a kind of melanin specific inhibitor. At present, it has been equipped with a variety of cosmetics, made for freckles, senile plaques, pigmentation and acne of high-grade whitening cosmetics.

Kojic acid and its derivatives has certain antibacterial, capable of absorbing UV rays of the sun. For example, Acetate. It has a ability to anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, reducing the wrinkles.

Advantages: Strong permeability and whitening effect.

Disadvantages: Extracted from the fungus. It has a certain toxicity. It is not suitable for using in a long-term.

5: Licorice Root Extract - Glabridin

It derived from licorice. Skin care products are generally extracted from the Glycyrrhiza Glabra, also known as Licorice root. The active ingredient derived from the Root of Glycyrrhiza Glabra. Licorice Root has a whitening effect and inhibit the formation of melanin, dilute the stain, anti-inflammatory sterilization, anti oxidative, and so on.

The Best Skin Tips You've Never Heard

The Best Skin Tips You've Never Heard

Yes, even that tiny tube of hotel face cream does something. Any emollient will not only temporarily plump up fine lines but also help prevent skin aging. "When we do a peel or surgery, probably the single most important factor in wound healing is keeping the area well moisturized," points out Richard Fitzpatrick, an associate clinical professor of dermatology at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. Sun damage, he notes, is no different: A daily lotion containing glycerin, shea butter, or another basic hydrator "allows your skin to repair itself much more effectively." It also increases its mobility, making repetitive smiles and squints less punishing to the face. That said, the basics should be used only in a pinch. For daily use, dermatologists prefer moisturizers spiked with ingredients designed to boost cell turnover, stimulate collagen growth, and banish DNA-damaging free radicals.
Forget pulled hamstrings. The most overlooked gym-induced strain hits us above the shoulders. "I can pinpoint women who tense the jaw and throat when exercising, because it makes the cords of the neck more prominent and pulls down the face," says Fredric Brandt, a dermatologist in New York City and Miami.
Don't assume you're inoculated against photodamage just because the sun is barely up when you leave for work and sets on your commute home. Unlike UVB light, UVA rays travel through windows in the office, home, and car, warns Dover. Until recently, few worried much about the latter wavelength, partly because it causes a tenth as much tanning as the former. But in fact, "two very important studies a few years ago showed that UVA is carcinogenic and induces the grayish, yellow-y cast you see on older people's skin," says Dover, who recalls one laser-resurfacing patient whose wrinkling was "five times worse on one side" from years of daily drives between New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Those who don't spend most of their waking hours in a cinder-block bunker should "wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen 365 days a year, rain or shine," he says.
All the SPF and sun avoidance in the world can't protect you from the space heater next to your desk or the fireplace in your living room. Direct exposure from two to three feet away causes redness and a breakdown of collagen, says Brandt, who advises sitting at least ten feet away.
Guzzle water, the advice goes, and your skin will thank you. But New York City and Santa Monica dermatologist Karyn Grossman cringes when she sees women toting around bottles of water—or any other drink. As with straws, "the constant pursing creates lines and aggravates existing ones around the mouth," she says. Her suggestions for saving face: Sip filtered water from a glass at home, and carry a reusable bottle with a spout "so that you can squirt it into your mouth instead of sucking on the top."
Fusco can tell which side a patient sleeps on by the vertical line on her cheek. "The skin is pressed against wrinkles in the fabric," she says. The best way to avoid sleep lines is to snooze on your back. A more realistic strategy: smooth pillowcases. "Satin or silk is best," says Fusco. "Or buy the softest, highest-thread-count fabric you can."

How to Use a Toner on the Face

Facial toner is a skin care product that offers different benefits depending on the specific type of toner used. Facial toner can soak up excess oil and remove dirt, makeup and dead skin cells from your face; restore your face's pH balance; condition and moisturize your skin; and prepare your skin for better absorption of skin care products that are applied to the face immediately after the toner. Toner typically comes in a liquid form, although some toners are formulated as gels or mists. A toner can be used on its own or as part of a multistep skin care regimen as the step in between washing the face and applying facial moisturizers.

Step 1

Select an appropriate facial toner for your skin type and budget. If you suffer from acne, select a toner specifically indicated for this condition. If you need help finding the right toner, consult with a dermatologist, skin care esthetician or an experienced skin care product sales associate.

Step 2

Read the manufacturer's instructions for your facial toner and follow any instructions, indications or warnings. If the manufacturer's instructions differ from the instructions given in this article, always follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Step 3

Wash your face with your regular facial cleanser and pat your face dry with a clean towel. This step is optional, as some people prefer to use facial toner on its own.

Step 4

Apply a small amount of liquid facial toner to a cotton ball or pad. Take care not to saturate the cotton ball or pad with the facial toner but put enough facial toner on the cotton ball or pad so that it glides easily over your face.

Step 5

Move the cotton ball or pad gently in small circles across your face, paying special attention to your chin, nose, cheeks and hairline. Avoid your eyes and mouth.

Step 6

Repeat the process with a fresh cotton ball or pad until you no longer see dirt and debris on the cotton ball or pad. This step is optional; sometimes using just one cotton ball or pad is sufficient.

Step 7

Wait at least one minute for the toner to dry on your face. Toner is not meant to be washed off your face. Then, if desired, apply moisturizer or serum to your face.

Tip

  • Replace the cap on the bottle of toner immediately after use to prevent the toner from evaporating.

Warnings

  • It can be dangerous to ingest facial toner or get it in your eye. If ingestion or eye contact occurs, follow the manufacturer's instructions for these situations and -- if necessary -- call the poison control hotline or visit your local emergency room.
  • If irritation or an adverse reaction occurs after using a facial toner, immediately discontinue use and consult a doctor.
  • Keep facial toner out of reach of children and pets.

How to Apply a Facial Mask

  1. Prepare to make the least amount of mess possible. Wear clothing you don't mind getting messy – facial masks can stain clothes. Apply the mask in the bathroom so that any mess can be cleaned up easily. Use hair clips or a hair band to keep hair away from the face
  2. Wash the face with a cleanser. This is important, as any makeup, dirt, and oil can prevent getting all the benefits the mask was intended for. Open up pores by washing with warm water
  3. Steam the face to open pores. Pour boiling water into a large bowl and stand near it. Drape a large towel around your head to trap the rising steam. Another method to open the pores is by soaking a washcloth in warm water and putting it directly on the face. Do either method for 5 minutes. Dry your face after.
  4. Apply the facial mask. Empty the mask into a bowl and using clean hands, pat it onto the face. Be careful to avoid the eyes and lips. Wash hands after there is none left in the bowl.
  5. Wait and relax. Leave the mask on for however long the package says. If it is homemade or doesn’t specify, leave it on for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Remove the facial mask. Wash it off using warm water; be sure all of it is removed. Close pores by splashing the face with cold water.

How to Pick the Right Skin Care Products for You

Manufacturers of skin care products classify skin by type. Each skin type has its own needs, and choosing products designed for the appropriate type can help bring the skin closer to its healthy ideal.
Most products intended for dry, normal, oily, or combination skin refer specifically to facial skin unless the product's packaging mentions otherwise. Someone with an oily complexion above the neck could have dry skin on the legs and feet. Look for the skin care product that matches the skin type of the area it is meant to cleanse, tone, or moisturize.

Normal Skin

Smooth, even skin that looks clear and feels supple is considered normal. People with this skin type rarely get the blemishes that accompany oily skin or the rough patches that come with dry skin. Normal skin produces enough natural oil to have a dewy look a few hours after washing. People with normal skin should choose products designed to keep their skin in this state of glowing good health.

Dry Skin

When the skin does not produce enough natural oil or lacks sufficient water content, it becomes dry. Dry skin feels taut and itchy; it may have rough patches where it has become dry enough to flake. Dry skin looks dull on lighter tones and ashy on darker complexions. As skin ages, it often tends to become dry. Although mature skin has its own needs, skin care products designed for it also combat dryness. Products for dry skin aim to replenish moisture and protect the skin from further moisture loss.

Oily Skin

Oily skin has over-active oil-producing glands and develops blemishes readily. Skin that has a slick surface within half an hour to an hour of washing the face probably falls into this category. Excessive oiliness contributes to acne by clogging the pores and giving acne-causing bacteria a place to thrive. However, skin needs a certain amount of oil to stay healthy, so skin care products designed for oily complexions must reduce oil without stripping it away completely.

Combination Skin

This common skin type is oily in some areas and dry in others. The forehead, nose, and chin tend to produce more oil. This area, the T-zone, may need special care for oily skin while the cheeks require extra moisturizer for dryness. Skin care products that normalize the skin by adding moisture without clogging pores can be beneficial for combination skin.

Mature Skin

As skin ages, it grows thinner and more delicate. It also produces less of the protective natural oils that used to keep it supple. Like skin care products for dry skin, products for mature skin are typically creamy and emollient. Skin care lines designed for mature skin may also contain antioxidants, alpha hydroxy acids, and other ingredients with anti-aging properties.

Skin Care Essentials for Every Skin Type

For good health, every skin has a few basic needs. Skin should be clean, moisturized, and protected from the sun's ultraviolet rays. At its simplest, a skin care regimen includes products to fill these three fundamental needs.

Skin Cleansers and Soaps

Skin requires regular, gentle cleansing for a lifetime. Manufacturers offer a tremendous range of bar soaps, foaming face washes, and cleansing lotions to keep the skin clean. While bar soaps or body washes suffice for most of the skin, faces have slightly different needs. Look for a facial cleansing product designed for the appropriate skin type to get the skin clean without drying it or clogging pores.
As a rule, bar soaps are more drying than lotions and foaming washes. Soaps are slightly alkaline and can affect the natural acidity of the skin. For oily skin, this can be a benefit, but those with dry or mature skin may prefer a foaming lotion that is closer to skin's natural acidity. Regardless of skin type, a facial cleanser should remove oil and dirt from the skin without the need to scrub. Scrubbing too hard during cleansing can cause irritation for oily, acne-prone skin and roughen dry skin.

Moisturizers

All skin needs occasional moisturizing. Moisturizers consist of two components: a humectant and a protective ingredient. Humectants, ingredients that draw water molecules out of the environment and into the epidermis, hydrate the skin while protective ingredients form a layer to hold that moisture next to the skin. In a moisturizer for dry, normal, or mature skin, that layer of protection usually comes from an oil. Moisturizers for oily skin are usually oil-free.
By definition, oily skin already has sufficient oil, but it still needs hydration. A light moisturizer designed for oily or combination skin can replenish lost moisture and create a smoother, more even surface. Moisturizing oily skin also helps remove shed epidermal cells that could otherwise find their way into pores and cause clogs, so it is an important step even for oily skin.

Sunscreens

Most of the visible effects of aging are caused by years of sun damage. Ultraviolet rays can even contribute to cancer, so sunscreen is a vital component for any skin care regimen. While darker skin tones are far less susceptible to skin cancer, people with dark skin typically get more serious types of skin cancer when they do develop it. Dermatologists therefore recommend that everyone wear a sunscreen daily regardless of skin tone.
